There are several steps in place to determine the best educational plan for your child:

  1. Once a preschool aged child is found with a handicapping condition, an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meeting is held.
  2. The IEP team will determine where the student is currently functioning and what the child’s needs are.
  3. The IEP team will determine which services the child requires and which Preschool ESE Program will best suit his/her needs.

The County offers several different programs based on the needs of each individual child.  These programs include:

Contract Programs - In addition to the programs for preschoolers with special needs developed by the school district, the following 8 community agencies have contracts with the district to serve preschool children with disabilities.

• Alphabetland, Margate
• Ann Storck Center, Inc.
• ARC Broward, Inc.
• Broward Children's Center
• Baudhuin Preschool of Nova Southeastern University
• United Cerebral Palsy, Inc.
